Olga Sorkine was born in Moscow region, Russia (1981), and grew up in Tel Aviv, Israel. She is currently an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) of Computer Science at ETH Zurich. Prior to joining ETH she was an Assistant Professor at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University (2008-2011). Olga earned her BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science and PhD in Computer Science from Tel Aviv University (2000, 2006). Following her studies, she was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Fellowship and spent two years as a postdoc at the Technical University of Berlin. Olga is interested in theoretical foundations and practical algorithms for digital content creation tasks, such as shape representation and editing, artistic modeling techniques, computer animation and digital image and video manipulation. She also works on fundamental problems in digital geometry processing, including parameterization of discrete surfaces and compression of geometric data. Olga has served on numerous technical program committees of all major graphics conferences; she co-chaired the Eurographics Symposium on Geometry Processing in 2010 and is co-chairing Shape Modeling International this year (2011). She is serving as an associated editor of Computer Graphics Forum, as well as IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, Computers&Graphics and The Visual Computer. Olga received the Eurographics Young Researcher Award in 2008. Olga's publications can be found on her homepage: http://www.inf.ethz.ch/personal/sorkineo/
