Jan is an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) at the University College London in the Virtual Environments and Computer Graphics Group. Before joining UCL he was a Post-Doc with the graphics group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his PhD from the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Informatik, Germany. He is particularly interested in real-time rendering, light transport, realistic materials, and image- and video-based rendering, on which he has published many articles at various conferences including Eurographics and SIGGRAPH. Jan has also been a tutorial speaker at Eurographics, SIGGRAPH, and others. He was program co-chair of the Eurographics Symposium on Rendering 2007, program chair of the IEEE Symposium on Interactive Ray-Tracing 2008, and is program co-chair of Pacific Graphics 2011.
