Isabel Navazo is a professor of the Computer Science Department at the Polytechnical University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona (Spain). She received her PhD in Compute Science at UPC in 1986. She is the coordinator of the computer graphics courses. She has been also the Coordinator of the Graduate Programmes of the Department from 1996 to 2002. She is currently engaged in researched projects concerned with medical applications, surface reconstruction, octree representations, virtual reality and visibility in complex scenes. She has published a number of papers in international journals and conferences and she leads several projects in these areas. She has served in international programme committees including several Eurographics Workshops and Conferences; she has been co-chair of EG events (Short Papers of EG'02, EG-IEEE TCVG Symposium on Visualization -VisSym'02-, SIACG'04) and she has aldo served as reviewer in conferences ans journals. She is member of the Executive Committee of the Eurographics Spanish Chapter (EGse) since its creation in 1989 where she has been the tressurer and the coordinator of the Annual Education Session; she is the Chair of the EGse since 2007. She was on the Promotion Board from 2001 to 2004 ans she chairs the EG Education Board since April 2004.
