Professor Andy Day is deputy head of the School of Computing Sciences and leader of the computer graphics research group at the University of East Anglia, UK. At UEA he established the Urban Modelling Group (UMG - www.urbanmodellinggroup.co.uk) and the Crowd Simulation Group (CSG - www.crowdsimulationgroup.co.uk). He has published over 100 research papers and holds (or has held) several EU and EPSRC research grants. His research interests are in applied computational geometry, real time rendering and behaviour of crowds, urban modelling and haptics for deformable bodies. UMG works closely with the School of History at UEA (Virtualpast centre) on virtual historic reconstruction. He was responsible for organising the Eurographics stand at Siggraph for several years and has also been involved with organisation of Eurographics92 and other EGUK conferences.
